Product Liability & Medical Disclaimer

How our products should be used, what our information is and is not, and the limits of our responsibility.

Last updated 3 November 2026

Please read before use

This disclaimer applies to all products sold by That Makeup Brand and to all information published on our website, packaging, emails and social media (the "Content"). It forms part of our Terms and Conditions.

1. Our products are cosmetics

Our skincare, makeup, haircare and bath and body products are cosmetic products intended to cleanse, moisturise, protect, perfume or improve the appearance of the skin, hair and body. They are not therapeutic goods, are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease or medical condition, and have not been evaluated by the Therapeutic Goods Administration for any therapeutic claim. Any description of how an ingredient works is general information about cosmetic benefits and should not be read as a medical or therapeutic claim.

2. Not medical advice

The Content, including product descriptions, ingredient explanations, routines, tutorials, FAQ answers and replies to enquiries, is provided for general information only. It is not medical, dermatological or professional advice and is not a substitute for a consultation with a doctor, dermatologist or other qualified health professional who knows your skin and health history.

If you have a skin condition, allergy, are pregnant or breastfeeding, are taking medication or using prescription skincare, or are unsure whether a product is right for you, seek professional advice before use. Never delay seeking medical advice because of something you have read on our website.

3. Directions, patch testing and safe use

Always read the label and follow the directions for use on each product. Before using a new product, patch test it on a small, discreet area of skin and wait 24 hours. Discontinue use if redness, itching, swelling or irritation occurs, and consult a health professional if symptoms persist.

  • Keep out of reach of children. Our products are intended for use by adults, or by minors under adult supervision.
  • Avoid contact with the eyes; if contact occurs, rinse thoroughly with water.
  • For external use only. Do not ingest.
  • Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and use within the period-after-opening shown on the packaging.
  • Some ingredients, such as exfoliating acids, can increase sun sensitivity. Use a broad-spectrum sunscreen daily and limit sun exposure while using them.
  • Do not use a product if the seal is broken, the texture or smell has changed, or it has passed its use-by date.

4. Allergens and ingredients

A full ingredient list is printed on every product and shown on each product page. Ingredient lists are accurate at the time of publication, but formulas may be updated; the packaging in your hands is the authoritative list. If you have known allergies or sensitivities, check the list before every purchase and use. We cannot guarantee that any product is free of a particular allergen unless we expressly state so, and our products are made in facilities that may also handle other ingredients.

5. Results vary

Skin, hair and beauty results depend on many factors, including skin type, age, lifestyle, climate, concurrent products and consistency of use. Any results, testimonials, reviews or before-and-after images shown on the Content reflect individual experiences and are not a promise that you will experience the same outcome. Where we quote a study or consumer trial, the result is as described in that study and may not apply to everyone.

6. Images and descriptions

We take care to present our products accurately, but colours, shades, textures and finishes can appear differently depending on your screen, lighting and skin tone. Minor variations in colour, scent and texture between batches are normal for formulas made with natural ingredients and are not defects.

7. Our liability

To the extent permitted by law, That Makeup Brand is not liable for any loss, injury or damage arising from:

  • use of a product other than in accordance with its directions, warnings and intended purpose;
  • use of a product after its use-by or period-after-opening date, or after it has been stored improperly;
  • an allergy or sensitivity to an ingredient disclosed on the product label or product page;
  • combining our products with prescription treatments, procedures or third-party products without professional advice;
  • reliance on the Content as medical, dermatological or professional advice; or
  • products not purchased from us or an authorised stockist, including products that have been tampered with, decanted or resold.

Where liability cannot be excluded but may be limited, our liability is limited to replacing the product, supplying an equivalent product or refunding its price, as set out in our Terms and Conditions.

8. Reporting a problem

Your safety matters to us. If you experience an adverse reaction, or believe a product is faulty or contaminated, stop using it and contact us at info@thatmakeupbrand.com with the product name, the batch number printed on the packaging, a description of what happened and photographs if possible. We investigate every report and, where appropriate, notify the relevant authorities.
